Alaba Opeyemi is a twelve (12) year old boy who is a double orphan since his early childhood. The father died as a result of heart attack while the mother was reported dead, three years after the father’s death. The child lives with his grandparents since birth and is being taken care of by the grandma who is managing a small scale petty trading in front of their house. As reported by his grandma, the child was attending a private primary school before the death of his father but was enrolled in a public primary school due to the death of his father and her inability to afford the private school fees and other school needs.
A routine visits conducted by community staffs and volunteers with the Alaba family in the year 2018, to check on their performance in school, welfare at home, and other needs that may have arised.

The household of the VC was empowered to support the caregiver’s petty trading so as to cater for the wellbeing of the child.
